At night, city lights and illuminated bridges shine even brighter, and a calmer mood settles in that feels completely different from the daytime. Lingering over the view is just right when you want a quiet moment to yourself, and just as fitting when you want to spend a peaceful moment with someone special.
In this route, we introduce park spots where you can stop along the way and enjoy open, expansive night views. Why not get on the Metropolitan Expressway and head out to find your favorite night view?

1 Wakasu Seaside Park

An open, airy waterfront park where you can take a stroll while feeling the sea breeze from Tokyo Bay, Wakasu Seaside Park is packed with outdoor facilities, cycling course and sea fishing area. Nearby, the Tokyo Gate Bridge rises white against the night sky. Its distinctive shape, also known as the “Dinosaur Bridge,” is striking on its own, and the stream of car lights crossing the bridge adds a sharp accent. It is a simple night view, but with real impact. On clear days, it is also worth arriving a little early to enjoy the twilight gradient as the sky shifts from orange to blue, along with the silhouette of Mt. Fuji.

Next, from “Shinkiba Entrance,” take the Metropolitan Expressway Bay Shore Route westbound, then continue via Shinonome JCT and Route 10 Harumi Line to Toyosu Gururi Park.

2 Toyosu Gururi Park

Roughly five minutes from Route 10 Harumi Line “Toyosu Exit,” you arrive at Toyosu Gururi Park, set at the edge of Toyosu’s redevelopment area and wrapping around the waterfront. With a play area, one of the largest BBQ facilities in central Tokyo, a dog run, and more, it is a place where everyone can spend time their own way, from families to adults. The wide promenade that runs along the shoreline is also popular as a scenic running course. As you walk, the view keeps shifting, office buildings and bayside high-rises changing expression from moment to moment. Along with the shimmer of lights reflected on the water, it is a spot to take in a refined city nightscape.

Last, from “Rinkai Fukutoshin Entrance,” take the Metropolitan Expressway Bay Shore Route westbound, then continue via Honmoku JCT and Expressway Kanagawa Route 3 Kariba Line to Harbor View Park.

3 Harbor View Park

Approximately five minutes from the Kariba Line “Shin-Yamashita Exit,” you arrive at Harbor View Park, one of Yokohama’s best-known night-view spots. From the park’s viewing area, you can take in a sweeping panorama of the lively waterfront skyline, from the illuminated Yokohama Marine Tower to the Yokohama Bay Bridge, the Hikawa Maru, and the port lights beyond. Another highlight is the Marine Tower illumination itself. The colors shift by day, from orange and pink to bluish purple, so each visit comes with a slightly different mood.
